The short version: we collect nothing. No analytics, no tracking, no ads, no accounts, no third-party SDKs.
What we collect
Nothing. NihonGO Dokusho has no analytics or tracking of any kind, and no server of ours ever receives data about you. We cannot see what you read, what you tap, or that you use the app at all.
What is stored on your device
Your reading position, settings (theme, text size, haptics), your study notebook (words you tapped while reading, with the sentence they came from), and any books you download for offline use. All of it lives on your device.
iCloud sync
If you are signed into iCloud, your reading position, settings, and study notebook sync between your own devices through Apple's iCloud key-value storage. That data goes only to your personal iCloud account — we have no access to it. Books you download stay on each device.
Network use
The app contacts exactly one place: the NihonGO Dokusho content server (GitHub Pages), to fetch the book catalog and download books you choose. These are plain file downloads — no identifiers, no cookies, no tracking parameters. After downloading, books work fully offline.
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a revised date below.
